HAAT-mg Dropship
Model: HAAT-mg High Altitude Assault Transport- medical gunboat
Manufacturer: Rothana Heavy Engineering
Class: Repulsorlift
Armament: 2 side mounted ion cannons, 2 medium mounted double laser cannons
Escape Craft: Cockpit ejects from main body of dropship
Crew: 1 (Pilot)
Passengers: 8 seated, 2 holding onto side latches
Cargo Capacity: 5 standard GAR cargo crates, 1 medical capsule
Woo! My first ship ever! I'm pretty happy with what I came up with. Anyways this dropship was built for the 44th vs. 54th Corps dropship challenge/build-off! The 44th will now be at their knees in mercy
The HAAT-mg was mainly designed to drop airborne troopers at high speeds. It was also designed to transport GAR cargo crates, and one medical capsule if needed. Featured in this dropship is a squad of the 11th Snake Eyes Airborne Company in my 713th Spade Legion, within the 54th Eclipse Corps.
Topshot of the landed dropship and troops at ease.
A few of the squad within the 11th Snake Eyes Airborne Company inspect weapons containers.
The squad's sergeant and another trooper talk with the pilot about an upcoming mission.
Two airborne troopers at ease.
The squad in formation with the pilot.
As you can see, the troopers are outfitted with darker armor (a little bit). This is because the 54th Eclipse Corps operates under the motto of 'Bringing light to the Galaxy, through darkness.' Thus black armor is suitable for covert and stealthy recon missions.
An inside shot of the cockpit. There is a fire extinguisher and a small blaster in the back in case of emergencies. An extended cockpit windscreen provides the pilot with a downward view so that he may see were that airborne troops are going, or if the ship is shelling enemies.
The pilot inside the opened cockpit. Go! Go! Go!
Cockpit latched closed.
An interior shot of the dropship with staged seating chairs.
A shot of the aisle up the middle leading out the back. This is so seated troops may run and jump out the back of the ship.
The dropship loaded with 5 standard GAR crates.
Back shot of the crates in the aisle.
The dropship half loaded with airborne troops.
There are no side blast doors or armor because with the ships speed, there is no need. Also, troops can deploy quicker by jumping out the side in air, or on the ground.
The dropship fully loaded with a squad of airborne troops.
Because he is the squad leader, the sergeant must hold onto the side latch of the dropship so that he can personally command his men and see to their safety during jumps.
Another side shot of the loaded dropship.
The sergeant oversees the flight.
Back shot of the jump aisle. It's a little hard to see but there is also a pulse beacon above the aisle in red so that cruisers or command posts may know the ship's whereabouts.
An airborne trooper in the 11th Snake Eyes Company prepares for a high altitude jump.
Low side-shot view of the dropship and side-mounted ion cannon.
There are two ion cannons located on either side of the ship; making it a support gunboat if a skirmish with clankas gets heated. My inspiration for this particular design came from the U.S. AC-130 Spectre Spooky Gunship
Front leveled view of the dropship.
Ok so maybe the GAR Nu-class Attack Shuttle had a little influence as well
There are 14 rupulsorlift intakes atop the ship. Making 8 on the back wings, 4 on the middle wings, and 2 on the front wings.
The 6 wing design supplies extra stability for high speed travel, and evasive inflight manouvours.
Side shot of the wings and upper part of the dropship. The wings can be retracted down to serve as a temporary shielding device for passengers in emergency situations.
Back shot upper shot of the dropship.
Shooshibility test!
Very easy to swoosh! Not fragile at all, and the base wedge design of the ship made it easy to grip. I'll give it a 10!
The bottom of the ship, and the wedge design I was just talking about. I appologize for my hand being in this shot, there was no other way to display the ship :/
The interior of the ship with the stage chairs removed. The vast open area would make a good interior for transporting something on the larger side...
...Like a medical capsule for injured Jedi and troopers! Let's face it, some troops are just too valuable to lose and have to go through the process of growing and training a replacement!
A Clone Medic monitors the injured troop.
Another view of the capsule.
Stabilizing monitors and displays.
The medical capsule loaded into the interior of the dropship.
Wow, 4 building hours, 4 photographing/editing hours, and 1 writing hour later, I've finally finished the HAAT-mg. What do ya guys think- especially those of you in the 44th?

Re: HAAT-mg Dropship
I love it.... the stuff it can hold is awesome. You made the floor have an odd number of tiles sideways... the cockpit is detailed and amazing... The only thing that I don't like is the shape of the bottom part. I looks a little flat. those engines are cool and innovative though. A good idea. The fact that you made the floor with an odd number of studs is still dazzling me.
it kind of looks like a little brother of the RAS....
Revo you should do more ship Mocs... As I told you earlier better ships can lead to better Mocs.

Wow, I really like this. I don't know if I like the openness of the hold and the pyramid design. That med unit is fantastic!

Fked.
We might have to concede defeat.
Nice job, I like it, but too many engines.

It's like a smaller, cooler, Republic version with jackhammer greebles of this: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/92437
Yes, I'm lame enough to advertize my MOC's on your thread. But I did comment on it, so I hope it's cool.

Grand Army of the Republic.
This is awesome Revo. Not the best dropship I've ever seen, but really good for a first try!
The engines are a turn-off for me, but the interior is great!
Re: HAAT-mg Dropship
Wow!! This makes me want to scrap my W wing and a few other sets to make a dropship. Maybe I will in the future. But really this is awesome. Make a big moc with this and clones "jumpping" and this would be awesome-er.

Wow...Just wow! I'm completely lost for words....This thing is way cool for your first try at ships.
Re: HAAT-mg Dropship
Holy hell! Of course, this is LegoRev, and he's a badarse builder, rivaled only by Rook, so it's expected.
The seating and cargo mechanism is very nice, I love the idea of the back egress. Reminds me of a C-130 or something . The engines are a little much, but it's a awesome MOC regardless.

1. Yours looks blockily awful,(no offense) so comparing it to revo's is a little disparaging.
2. He asked what GAR meant, not what your MOC was. So I'm questioning your intentions here; whether to just show off your 'best work' on someone else's page or to answer a misread question.

Re: HAAT-mg Dropship
Not fan of those vent peices. But the overall feel of the MOC is cool. Especially the color scheme.
Re: HAAT-mg Dropship
Yeah, I do agree that he does have unlimited. But it's worth it with the MOC's he gives us.
