End of an Empire
A small but detailed double-sided MOC with a bit of a backstory: one side of the MOC is of the insignia during the civilization's golden age, the other side centuries later, in ruin and decay.
The new side: tan stone and dark red details.
The old side: colors gone and pillars toppled to dust.
My favorite shot; shows some of both sides.
The ruined insignia.
The brand-new insignia
Comments and criticism welcome.

The pictures aren't the best but this is a good concept. Good job,

Re: End of an Empire
Points for the concept as Luke said.
I would suggest using macro focus on your camera PLUS the flash.
I like also how you haven't chosen a specific planet for this, but have left it to be a generic planet that could be anywhere, to show the vastness of the evil of the Empire.

Re: End of an Empire
The idea is cool but seems too simple for a guild member. I would recommend expanding this to 32x32 and then show one side with bustling street/market etc. and the other side in ash and ruin.

I saw that symbol on that palace scene WIP. I love it!

This is not the Galactic Empire. I want to leave it open, for your imagination to go free. That's why it's in the 'Other Creations' section. It isn't SW.
@ Rook: Yeah, I might add on to it. I was thinking about putting a young boy on one side, admiring the carving, and then an old man on the other, mourning what is lost.

Sounds artsy, but at least it has a message, unlike most modern art.

Re: End of an Empire
I wouldn't use the flash, use lots of lamps.
If that don't work...get a big flash and point it up to a reflector (a lamp pretty much).
And use a smooth background in one colour, white or black normally works best but green/blue/orange are always nice for the eyes.

Nice detail . For some reason it reminds me of one of those places where poems are deep, depressing, and
the audience snaps at the end.
