~Bob B~
ROOK: Q. 1. Who are you!? Tell us briefly about yourself. (Share a picture(s) of yourself if you wish.)
~Bob B~: A. 1. Well, most people call me Bobby, but I also go as Bob so you can call which ever you prefer. I'm in High School and hope to study something having to do with technology in college. I live in Michigan and as eeza465 said in his interview, it is pretty boring.
Probably not the greatest picture of myself, but it’s the most recent one.
ROOK: I’ve driven through Michigan numerous times. I think that says it, “driven through”.
ROOK: Q. 2. What was your first set? How did this influence your love of Lego?
~Bob B~: A. 2. This probably really isn't considered a set, but when I was 2 or 3 my dad got me this huge yellow Duplo tub that was the shape of a school bus and even had wheels on the bottom. I can still remember sitting on top of it and my dad pushing me around the house. I honestly can't remember what my first official set was, the only thing that I can really remember was that it was Star Wars and it pretty much got me to where I am today.
ROOK: Oh no’s! Duplo again! The truck does sound cool. And a memory like that does help to ensure one’s continued joy of the brick.
ROOK: Q. 3. What got you into the Lego online community? Did you ever have a “dark age”?
~Bob B~: A. 3. I first started off in the Lego community when I use to post small builds in the Gallery section on the Star Wars page on Lego's website. I did that for a year or two and then last January I discovered MOCpages and was quite active on there until June of last year when I made a Flickr account and became a lot more active on there. I also joined the CABG in late June of last year. I haven't really had an official dark age yet and I don't plan on having one either.
ROOK: Q. 4. What is your favorite MOC? Why?
~Bob B~: A. 4. Oh jeez, that's a tough one. Well lately I've enjoyed looking at Legohaulic's "1950's Soda Shop." He was able to get so many fantastic details into such a small area and it was nice to see someone build something from that time period.
ROOK: Q. 5. Who is your favorite Builder(s)? Why?
~Bob B~: A. 5. Another tough question. Well, Justin Pyne's builds have always been some of my favorites and his building skills are remarkable for his age.
ROOK: JP has always impressed me with his photography as well as building skills.
ROOK: Q. 6. What is your preferred Theme? Why?
~Bob B~: A. 6. I would have to say Star Wars for that one! I've always been a huge fan of Star Wars since a very young age and the sets just keep on getting better each year!
ROOK: Q. 7. What do you see for your self in future, as far as long term projects?
~Bob B~: A. 7. Well I'm currently competing in the MOCathalon over on MOCpages so you can expect to see some entries for that soon. Besides that, I don't have too much planned for projects, probably just some small vignettes here and there.
ROOK: Cool. Would have loved to get in on the MOCathalon this year but I was too busy. :S
ROOK: Q. 8. Tell us about something that wasn’t asked above.
~Bob B~: A. 8. At the moment I really want to try to branch out from building Star Wars all the time. I'll always be a Star Wars builder, but I want to try to broaden my horizons and try different themes so I always don't feel as restricted to building Star Wars. So I hope to try some different themes in the future.
Thanks for the interview.
ROOK: Sound like with the new multi-theme format then CABG.net is a good place to be. Thanks again from the CABG Staff.
Re: Council Member Spotlight II
I (for some reason) enjoy reading these, gives me an idea of other peoples lives.
Re: Council Member Spotlight II
Am I the only one who's first set wasn't Duplo? Just kidding. I know some started with the "real" bricks. I agree with CJ. These interviews are quite interesting.
