LAAT/I The good 'ol Larty!
I was not ver happy with the original LEGO Larty, so I decided to mod it to make it more accurate, and here is the result. There are still a few things to be done though, the bay doors need to be sloped, and the ball turrets need to be fully enclosed, with a minifig able to sit inside. But here's what I have so far:
An overview:
The Speeder Bike Hold:
The fully enclosed wing turrets:
And the missile belt:

Yeah, I mix my new CW Clones in with the EP. II Clones, it doesn't actually look that bad.

I agree about the mixing; they aren't all that different!
One thing: I see a lot of orange. The only orange really noticable was in the little symbols that were stickers on the side...
Also, is it me or do I see, in the second pic, that the front half is old white and the back half is new white?

Nice job here! Makes lego's version look like a brain-dead monkey designed it.

Wait, you mean it wasn't? Just kidding. I never noticed how similar the clone types were... hmmm... awesome work, by the way.Aki-kundu wrote:Nice job here! Makes lego's version look like a brain-dead monkey designed it.

It really pops out at me that the whole cockpit pod is way to high. I think it should be set more into the model, and it seems there is kindof a gap between the back of the pod and the rest of the gunship. Also the rocket pod tubes need to be much longer, and actually have a tube.
Nice job but I think it still needs some work.

Like CC said, Good but needs work. I don't really like the ball turrets on the wings. And is "Grand Old Larty" a play on words of "Grand Old Party"?

Yes, the new Gunships cockpit is more sunk in, and I agree it looks better, I am currently adressing the matter. I am also buying the pieces to extend the missile tubes exactly like the new Gunship has them.
