Season 1
Episode 15
The Funeral
Plot Summery:
You should know and I'm lazy.
A final note before reading the comics, have have put my own comic thoughts under frames I feel need them. See, I know that my comics can be funny sometimes. You don't know how many times a comic I want to just turn the whole series into a comedy. But I think this is a good outlet for me!
"I wrote my thesis on Zukla, so can rattle random facts about them off the top of my head!" -Si
OMGOSH HAIRZ!!!!!
Well, that's it folk. We finally start the first real battle of the series. The rest of the series was just set up to this battle. This is really what most of the rest of the series will be like, more battles, more fighting, less flashbacks. I needed to set up character's first.
This comic, I know, is boring. No exciting GIMPing, no battle, barely a story, but it got most of my work with setting the scene for the battle that will dictate comics 17-24. And that's right. I think I'm done with flashbacks for the season.

/wipes tears from eyes
Dam you Furballs! Why did you have to leave!
Touching speech Si.
Anywho....
I see future connection between the padawan and bald guy.
And I find it funny that Si and blad guy haven't heard of each other...since you know...same Legion?

Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
I smell a blooming romance.
EDIT: May I ask, though, why the speechgiver hasn't been in previous comics? I'm sure there's a legitimate reason; I'd just like to know.

Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
You've got to remember that my comic starts at the beginning of the war. Versilles and Si have only been serving together as a legion for abbout... a month now? They just never happened to be assigned to the same place.
And the reason above is the answer to your question as well 80-0. Simply by chance the two have not yet met in a month of service.

Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
hmmm....
Okay I will not make a comeback with:
"They must have heard some one name their names."
I won't...oh snap!

Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
Oh, I'm sure they've heard each other names before. Versilles may even know that a man named Si runs his Legion. I know that a man named "Jens" runs my corps, but I haven't even the faintest clue what you look like, so if you were to run up to me and yell "wait up!" I'd probaly ask who you were
Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
Look for a bright hat...
Okay your comeback wins.
But of course everyone knows who Jens is....

Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
That was the second most touching legion comic funeral I've read on this forum. Poor Fluffles .
EDIT: Never mind, I'm a moron.

Oh, you're the guy with the bright hat Jens! I think I saw you yesterday on the street! I should have said hi!
I'm afraid I am very confused by your post Ham.

Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
The funeral almost seemed anticlimatic. There weren't any gun salutes, there weren't groups of soldiers at attention, the eulogy was lacking a bit; so forth. For an episode who's name is devoted to that, there could have been just a little more attention given to it. Also, I don't think that a fellow who hardly knew Loshfurra should have been there to give his eulogy. The funeral's assembly should have been comprised of all 313th troops, and he should have just been sitting in the background, leaned up against a wall perhaps, gaining glances by members of the 313th. The funeral proceeds as normal, but people keep looking back at this unknown officer, unaware of who he and his bodyguards/padawan are until he strikes up conversation with their CO.
I'm liking your concept of an "old-fashioned" society. However, I think that a certain Prime Directive-ness is requisite for it to really hit home. The Seps and the Republic are fighting on a world that is inhabited by people largely like us - unaware that there is a galaxy full of advanced members of their species, and not ready yet (technologically, and psychologically) to become aware of it. Therefore, both factions have to be careful to respect their culture, or risk being maligned by their opponent (I.E: "insensitive imperialists who exploit the natives by waving their shiny technology around, mystifying the simple populace"). It provides for a very unique civilian perspective on things, as people would mistake the explosions as signs of the Gods, the dogfights as mythical monsters locked in deadly combat, droids as skeletal warriors, Clones as Holy Crusaders sent to protect them from their anti-Gods, so forth.
I REALLY am looking forward to your next series! I'm going to enjoy how you develop the planet and the issues you can bring to bear with it !

Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
The comic itself was good, but you have to many clone commanders and Jedi Generals. PLEASE buy a clone battlepack. Can't wait to see what 'Zukler' is like.
Re: Episode 15: The Funeral
I'm buying 3 clone battle packs, so never you worry your pretty little head Phima. And yeah, I hope to develop the planet next episode, and then have an awesome battle for the 9 after that
