A better flag. I thought the flag was the most important thing that an American can admire, so I blew my old one up, made a new one!

I finally rise from the dead (MOC-wise), and I'll kick things off with a MOC about a Holiday that is today: Veteran's Day.
It took me about 1 hour to do this, and I'm rather satisfied about this, besides the flag...

That's pretty good for a first MOC!!

The rocks aren't bad... may need some studlessness or greebles....

Terraforming and rocks are VERY difficult... I'm working on my first rock formation moc right now and I've put a good 5 hours into it. The flag is pretty funny because the stripes are the wrong way, and I'm holding everything back from screeming FAIL, but it's not fail, it's creative. Mocs that are made in tribute to something are always good, and I'm glad to see it. Can only improve from here.

They are? I didn't find them that hard when I built my first rocky terrain.

Use some more slopes, 2 by 1 tiles and some cheese slopes to create that rocky feel.

This is the picture N09 probably used, it's based on the famous photo made when Iwo Jima was (almost) captured by Allied forces.

I really like it. It makes me proud of America and all its allies.

But yes, the flag does need work!

Right now I'm working on something that is fairly difficult. When I release it (hopefully later tonight) I think you might understand. The thing with my moc is I'm not using a lot of those 1x1x1/3 slopes in it. I'm trying to make the feel of the rocks big, to make the figs look small and unimportant in the moc. Plus it's my first try so 7 hours plus lets go!

That doesn't really make sense flare...

I mean the flag isn't "100%" correct... I mean since when does the US flag have 4 stripes....

But it is more accurate then his original attempt.

Well I was basicly saying the other one look like junk but the new is so much better.

I know... I was just pointing our how inaccurate that post was...

You are right T-B the real American flag has 13 stripes but good attempt.

I don't think there's a logical way for it to have all 13. Good job, glad to see you MOCing again!

Well you could use stickers... TLC does it all the time...

There's logic in there somewhere... (for the greater good of TLC) I believe that printed pieces cost more and aren't as diverse as stickered pieces. Stickers can be taken off to develop a whole entire new piece, or stickers can be placed on other bricks to create new diverse pieces. I hate it, but that's what I see their reasoning as.

Well that and the fact that it's cheaper....

But I really hate stickers though....

I don't hate any of them but I won't use stickers on other pieces. But stickers can be cool since I used some 2 stickered tiles and 1 slope from a ugly Exo-Force set to replace the same bricks on my V-1ing, and now it has some really cool markings.
