541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
The All Terrain Reconnaissance Transport is quite prolific throughout the GAR. Initially designed as a scout unit, Colonel Turaki Kaier saw it as a way to mechanize his infantry. While his dream of AT-RT-mounted battalions never came to fruition - considering the lengthy procurement times so characteristic of the bureaucracy-backed army - he was able, however, to ensure that at least every squad of Armored Elite, Skirmisher Infantry, and Regular Infantry had an AT-RT/s with them. The walker was recon unit, Squad Automatic Weapon, communications package, and equipment hauler in one. While the unit could still function autonomously without a AT-RT/s in support - it still was a splendid addition to their combat outfit.
Slightly different from the basic model, the S was faster, lighter, better outfitted and had a much heavier cannon. While the shape was very much the same, the S was made of durable plastics, new laser-resistant composites and significantly fewer metal elements. This increased her speed, while still allowing her to tote some serious firepower and more advanced logistical equipment, keeping in line with the 541st tradition of "flight to the fight". The AT-RT/s was a tangible manifestation of the 541st's dogma; combining martial strength with mobility.
I HATED my TLC AT-RTs, due to the fact that they towered over even a HAV/w Juggernaut . Seeing myself with some time on my hands, I decided to whip me up an agreeable alternative, that was on a better scale, and exceptionally pose-able (so that I could find a use for her in mah comics). I have to say, I'm pleased with the results. Some might say she's too thin, but I for one admire a slender outline. The AT-RT's supposed to be diminutive, anyways .

The legs need major work, they look way too disproportionate compared to the body.
The body, however, is good. I'm loving all that dark red! And the purist figs are good eye candy, too.
Overall, it's pretty decent, but needs some tweaking...

It's that bad, eh? Hmm... I guess it looks different when you're holding it in your hand, or staring at it on your desk .

Yea, I guess so...
Although I must say I can't wait to see these in Vendetta!

Like Joe said. Legs way too thin. Your troops also look a little too exposed to me.

It's an AT-RT.... they're supposed to be exposed .

I mean the sides. Cover their legs just a tad bit.

I see what you mean.
Yes, as said that legs just look..well...odd compared to the body, I love the front piece and the design of the body. Just work on those legs.
Re: 541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
Spindly! I have a thing for spindly-ness, only rivaled by blockyness. I actually like the legs, but like others said, cover up the sides a little. They kinda mess with things, if you know what I mean.

Re: 541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
The legs are way to skimpy towards the top, but th rest looks pretty nice.
Re: 541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
The legs...... Need alot of work but other then that the top part is great.
Re: 541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
Yeah, I'll post an updated version of them today, with my four modifications I worked out from tablescraps last night .

Cool! I think these are by far better than TLC's version, it's just that, IMHO, the legs look weak compared to that scrumptious bley/dark red body.
Whenever I make walkers I always think looks and movement over accuracy and, sometimes, practicality.

Made a couple've modifications. I'm finding it really hard to bulk up the legs, while keeping that light, smooth, agile feel of the walker.
Re: 541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
I think that one is better than the 1st one. Leave it at that Sial.

Wait a sec...
As we can see, you've done the body great, but the legs are a bit ugly. They're too small and
to thin.
Here try this.

After looking at that reference pic Lukas put up, yours is looking pretty good. But he's right. Legs are still a tad too thin.
Re: 541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
Amazing I would say. Beef up the legs. Top half is to good (from looking at the reference pic)cln-cmndo wrote:The legs are scrawny! I don't even think they could support that thing!
Re: 541st AT-RT/s *Updated*
It's a start, but there are too many bulky pieces... to get the shape and smallness of it right you need to use miniscule pieces...
You don't have to do this, but it does make the AT-RT look a bit more advanced and mechanical, instead of all the ones we see here that are to be honest, a bit too basic. And as everyone said the waist down is a bit odd. The legs are too thin in some places, and the feet... well lets just say you could work on the shape.
It's a great beginning but it needs some mods...
keep on playing with it.

I'd use them provided I had a proper pool of them. My biggest enemy here was not having a lot of the pieces that I wanted to use . If I had a larger supply of the elements that would have helped flesh out the legs, I'd use them DY .
