Death Pod

My entry for the Military Podracer guild build.



The Death Pod, also known as the "Podracer of Doom" and "The Racing Death", was a kind of military podracer built by a barbaric skeleton-like race in order to protect their planet from invasion during the Clone Wars. It was feared in many systems. Based on the engine design of Mawhonic's powerful GPE-3130 and the aerodynamic cockpit design of Anakin Skywalker's podracer, it was pretty fast for a podracer of its size. The small side turbines were swapped for heavy Gatling guns and turbo lasers were added on top of the engines. Also, the protective grates in front of the large turbines were removed and spikes were added in their place to allow enemies to get chopped up when getting run over by the pod. The cockpit featured two twin blasters, two missiles, and a tank full of napalm that could be dropped in order to get rid of unwanted tailgaters.

But I kinda think they engines would look better and more pod like without those guns on the top.

Other than that, this is great!!

Is this Clone Wars? Not sure...

Otherwise this looks very nice! I think the red goes pretty well here and the tubes are well placed.

This is a very nice build. I like the colors and I love the feel.

But there are some elements that should be taken care of.
1. Too many studs on the side and the top of the model.
2. As much as I like them, the guns on the cock-pit/pod should be removed, because if you were to fire them, you would end up hitting the engines.
And 3. The overall design of the engines is somewhat plane and similar to that of the EXO Force sonic phantom.

But don't get me wrong I like it.

I, on the contrary, don't think anything should be changed. The studs and stuff give that "Hot Rod" look. Awesome!

I love the whole thing but I think the guns (those old gray pieces) on top of the engines should be there. They seem out of place.

I agree with Eclipse. But this fits the military theme nicely.

Pretty good, but it could use some more SNOT. I like the design though!

I really like the whole design. The grey guns on the top of each pod need to be removed, and the guns on the cock pit need to be removed. You don't want to shoot your own pod racer.
