Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Sorry, pictures are here now . I like it a lot. The SNOTing is very good, but if I were you I would try to get rid of the red at the front, and clean up the control panel to make it look more sleek. The capsules are really good.
Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Thanks for the feedback! I completely agree, fithboy. The control panel looks nice from the front, but its definitely very unsightly from behind. I'll clean it up a little and it may be used as one of my guild submissions...
Thanks,

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Ok, here are a few peices of my pretyy much worthless advice:
Attempt for a better picture, I know it can be hard, trust me, I know.
That red dot on the border, not much but it is somewhat distracting.
The random antena on the lower right looks out of place.
If possible replace the blue lever pieces with white.
Otherwise, your golden!

Not bad. All what is quoted is pretty much what I would say. For better photos all I can say is Lighting. I currently have a room light, 4 lamps, and a window for natural sunlight for my options. Lighting can make a grainy photo look a little better. Here are my tips for photography. Get a tripod if you don't have one. Cheap ones can be found in a lot of places under $20 and buy some nice lamps. White light is best, but yellow is workable with white paper over it. For small stuff like this 2 lights would be great. Tripod with your camera on top, MOC front and center, lights left and right of the CAMERA. (I totally should do a tutorial on this) A bad camera may be the issue, but for less than $50 it can improve your photos greatly.
The MOC it self has some great potential. Believe me though. A bad photo of a good MOC is no better than a good photo of a bad MOC. <- Quoted from someone on these forums I believe.
Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Thanks for the input guys! As far a photography goes, the next set of pictures detailing the improvements I've made are marginally better. However, this week I will try to find some time to create an area where I can take good pictures. I sort of haphazardly set up a background but I appreciate the photography tips jamesuniverse!

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
I've made tweaks to the Kamino MOC, and I posted a new one. Please feel free to give criticism, I want to become guild-worthy. 16 by 16 vigs aren't the best way to show my skills, so I've started a w.i.p. starfighter and a larger diorama will follow. Make sure to commment soon, I'd like to get ready to join the guild and improve my building.
Thanks,
-DeltaRecon226
Kamino vignette update: sleeker control panel.
Newer vignette; Sep forces battle clones in one of the many hallways aboard the RAS Prosecutor
Starfighter tablescrap. Not much, but once I visit my Lego store for a little Pick a Brick, this should evolve into a full-fledged, detailed starfighter. I apologize beforehand for the awful stand, ...

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
By the way, here's a quick tutorial on how to imbed pictures:
1. Go to the Flickr photo of our picture
2. Right click, and under view all sizes, select the size of the photo you want
3. Right click that photo, and copy the photo link. It's either "copy image location" or "copy image URL".
4. On the forum, click the image embedder (the image without the floppy disk) and paste the url into there. It'll automatically be embedded in your post.

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Yeah, I've got you. Your cockpit needs work, and to remedy that, I'd suggest spreading the engines and cockpit to smooth out the transition. Either that or use a different glass piece (or even a glassless cockpit).
Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
I love the vigs! Great jobs on them. Fighter, doesn't seem to be your strong point, better than mine, but not your strongest.
Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Agreed. Vigs are nice, the first one is greatly improved and I love the stripes on the floor of the second one, but the fighter defiantly needs some work in the shape of it. Overall I think that the thing you need to work on most is your photography, but I'm sure you wont have a problem getting into the Guild .
Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Hey Guys,
An update of my MOC. I was wondering if you guys liked the roof, and what I should do to the ground. I will be getting more grass pieces later on.

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Wow, that's actually really nice! Good job! Huge improvement over before. Your landscape is definitely lacking in detail. Instead of just slapping on random pieces of rubble, try using green plates to create some texture, if you have any.
Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Here's my second attempt at a starfighter. Still a WIP, but better. What I intend to do is reduce the clutter on the body, and either shape the wings to look more aerodynamic or just go with full wings. Feel free to comment!

16 X 16 Holo Room MOC. Anything I need to improve on? Detail? Smoothness?

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Delta: Your fighter is getting better, but try unifying the colors. As close as they are, the white and grey don't work too well together here and the transition between the two is a little jarring. Also, If you want to make your fighter smoother use SNOT for the nose. It'll be hard to do, but worth it.
AlphaDelta. : That's a pretty nice base you've got there! It's a little bland, but that's ok. All you need now is a decent place to photograph your MOCs to do them justice. Try getting a huge poster board to use as a background.

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Thank you for the advice on picture taking. I'm not pro on that, but I will get a large poster board or a couple 48 X 48 base plates.

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Wow, it is really nice to see some newer members becoming more active. Alpha, you really have some nice vigs going on especially with your greebling. As for Delta, your ship could use a little work especially around the wings. For the both of you, photo editing could really help your presentation in pictures.
Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Here's an update to my starfighter. No wings or tailfin on it yet, but they'll come soon. Again, I confess that starfighters are my weak point, so feel free to offer input.

Re: MOC Feedback for New Members
Delta, I like your starfighter a lot. I suggest that you put in some sort of color along with the gray such as orange, blue, green, or yellow.
